All because he was bored. Over his career, he impersonated a monk, a prison warden, a philosophy professor, and a civil engineer. But his most insane con happened during the Korean War. He stole the credentials of a doctor named Joseph Cyr and joined the Canadian Navy as the ship’s surgeon. He had zero medical training. Everything was fine until 16 soldiers were brought on board with critical combat wounds. They needed immediate surgery, or they would die. Ferdinand didn't panic.
