  • Blog Restructuring and Trustoria Integration | 1 November 2026 System Upgrade

As preparations continue for the major MySA system upgrade scheduled for 1 November 2026, we would like to inform our community that the platform's Blog section has undergone a complete restructuring of its categories.

This forms part of the extensive development and improvements currently taking place across the MySA network.

A More Organised and Comprehensive Blog Experience

The previous blog category structure has been replaced with a more comprehensive and professionally organised system, designed to support a much wider range of news, information, educational material, industry insights and other published content.

With the new category structure now being implemented, every existing blog article is being individually reviewed and assigned to its most appropriate category.

This is a substantial process, and users may notice articles being moved between categories as our administration team works through the existing content.

Preparing for the Trustoria News and Information Partnership

A key reason behind this restructuring is the upcoming integration of Trustoria, our partnering news and information platform.

As part of this development, existing articles from Trustoria, along with newly published news and information content, will progressively be incorporated into the MySA environment.

This partnership will significantly expand the variety of content available to our users, bringing together local and international news, technology developments, business insights, educational articles, interesting discoveries and other informative publications.

The objective is to establish a more comprehensive and accessible information environment within MySA, allowing our community to discover relevant content through a properly structured and organised system.

Part of a Much Larger Platform Transformation

The restructuring of the Blog section represents just one component of the extensive improvements currently underway.

As we approach 1 November, several areas of MySA are being upgraded, reorganised and prepared for the introduction of new features and expanded platform capabilities.

Our focus remains on developing MySA into a more advanced South African digital network, where social interaction, business opportunities, entertainment, education and reliable information can come together within one connected environment.

We appreciate the patience and continued support of our community while these improvements are being implemented.

The changes taking place today are laying the foundation for what MySA is becoming tomorrow.

Further official announcements will follow as we continue revealing the developments leading up to the 1 November 2026 system upgrade.

  • There is a great deal taking shape across Mysatech and the platforms we’re building together—and we want you to see the journey unfold.

The updates we’re sharing are more than a preview of changes coming to MySA. They’re a way to bring our community along as the work progresses: to show what’s being developed, explain why it matters, and help everyone understand how these platforms and programmes fit together.

As MySA moves through its next stage of development, we’ll be highlighting the new features and improvements planned for the social network—changes intended to create a more engaging, useful and connected experience for the people and businesses who use it. We want our community to understand what is changing and what those changes could make possible.

We’re also using this opportunity to put a brighter spotlight on the businesses and clients who are part of our network. Their products, services, stories and hard work deserve to be seen. As we share what is taking shape, we’ll introduce you to more of the people and organisations behind it—and help our audience discover businesses they may not have come across before.

And there is more to this journey than one social network. Across our partner platforms and programmes, different ideas are being developed to help people find and connect with what they need. That may mean helping a traveller discover a place to stay or something to do, helping a customer explore a local business, giving a company more ways to build its online presence, or creating useful learning and entertainment experiences for users.

For businesses, this work is about more opportunities to be presented clearly, build trust and reach people who are already looking for what they offer. For users, it is about having more meaningful ways to discover businesses, services, places, information and content that are relevant to them.

We’ll be sharing these developments step by step: introducing the platforms, showcasing our clients and partners, and giving you a closer look at the plans behind the changes. Some parts are still underway, and we’ll share more as they take shape. We want to be open about the journey and give the people who are part of it the recognition they deserve.

This is a major period of growth for Mysatech and the wider network. The changes are taking shape, the partnerships are moving forward, and there is much more to come.

Thank you to our clients, partners and community for being part of the journey. Keep following along—you’ll see the progress, meet the people behind it, and discover what these developments could mean for you.

The upgraded Entertainment section will bring a wide range of video content into one place, from music and travel to creative projects, motoring, wildlife, how-to videos and more. Browse what’s trending or most viewed, explore by category, and see content marked free or paid.

It’s a more organised way to find something that interests you and discover new creators and content along the way. The new Entertainment experience is planned as part of the full MySA upgrade on 1 November.

  • FROM WATERMELON FARMS TO FOURWAYS

It’s hard to imagine when you’re sitting in Fourways traffic today, but less than a century ago, much of the area around us was open countryside.

And the story of how Fourways became Fourways is a fascinating one.

In 1935, Ernst and Ethel Eriksen travelled north from Johannesburg looking for land on which to build a home. They found part of the old Witkoppen farm, where the Van der Walt brothers were farming watermelons and Friesian cattle.

Ethel reportedly fell in love with the views towards the Magaliesberg and the sunsets. Ernst initially bought 423 acres, with the property later growing to around 605 acres.

They called their home Norscot, a name combining Norway and Scotland, reflecting the family’s Norwegian and Scottish connections.

Construction began in 1936, and Norscot eventually became an extraordinary country residence with eight reception rooms, six bedrooms and five bathrooms.

At the time, this really was the countryside.

Even into the 1950s, the area was considered well outside Johannesburg, and accounts of Fourways in the 1970s still describe working farms, open fields and dairy cattle being walked down to the Jukskei River.

SO WHERE DID “FOURWAYS” COME FROM?

The name developed around the four-way stop at Witkoppen Road and what was then William Nicol Drive, now Winnie Mandela Drive.

That simple rural intersection would eventually become the centre of one of Johannesburg’s busiest commercial and residential areas.

    The transformation happened remarkably quickly.

    Fourways Mall arrived in 1994.

Montecasino opened in 2000, bringing a massive new entertainment development to the same Witkoppen intersection.

Farms and open land steadily gave way to homes, shopping centres, schools, restaurants, offices and the Fourways we recognise today.

And remarkably, one piece of that earlier Fourways is still here.

Norscot Manor survives today as part of the Norscot Manor Recreation Centre, giving us a physical link to a time when this corner of Johannesburg looked very different.

So next time you’re crawling along Witkoppen, spare a thought for the watermelons, Friesian cattle and country estates that came before us.

Fourways has changed a lot in less than 100 years.

What part of its history should we dig into next?

  • Something special is coming for couples who want wedding planning to feel exciting again — not overwhelming.

The Wedding Book is being created as a new kind of wedding platform: one place where couples can discover ideas, compare options, find trusted professionals and plan with far more confidence from the very beginning of their journey.

From venues, photographers and florists to dresses, décor, catering, rings, beauty, entertainment and honeymoon inspiration, the goal is simple — bring the right people and services together in one beautifully connected environment.

But this is not about filling a directory with as many listings as possible.

    Trust will matter.

Wedding professionals will be showcased through detailed profiles, real information, reviews and transparent scoring, helping couples make informed decisions about who they choose to be part of one of the most important days of their lives.

The Wedding Book is also being designed to make discovery easier. Instead of endless searching across different websites and social pages, couples will be able to explore, compare and connect from one central platform built specifically around the wedding journey.

And for those already part of the MySA social network, there is even more to look forward to.

MySA users will be among the first to experience the platform as it begins opening up — discovering listed professionals, exploring new features and getting an early look at the next chapter of wedding planning.

We are still putting the final pieces together, but the vision is already clear:

    A better way to discover.
    A better way to choose.
    A better way to plan.
And a more meaningful way for trusted wedding professionals to connect with the couples looking for them.

The Wedding Book is coming soon.

Your wedding journey deserves more than endless searching.

It deserves a place built around it.
