What a way to wake up to a new day.
Spring seems to be keeping all of us guessing at the moment. One part of the country is reaching for the sunglasses, another is wondering whether to grab a jacket, and along parts of the coast there is still some rain and cooler weather hanging around. Today looks like another mixed South African spring day, with much of the interior seeing brighter conditions while coastal areas experience more cloud and showers.
And then, of course, there are the Springboks.
While many of us were sleeping, the Boks gave South Africa another reason to smile, beating the All Blacks 43–28 in Baltimore and sealing the four-Test series 3–1. Six tries, another massive battle between two of rugby's greatest rivals, and another proud chapter for South African rugby.
So wherever you are waking up this morning — whether the sun is shining through your window, the clouds are still hanging around, you are heading to work, opening your business, getting the family moving or simply enjoying a slower Sunday morning — we hope today is good to you.
South Africa can be unpredictable. The weather certainly seems determined to prove that lately. But there is also something special about waking up knowing that millions of us, in completely different towns and communities, are starting the same day together.
