Your power is your capacity

Food for Thought.

Do the people we surround ourselves with recognize our power — and when they do, do they try to shrink it… or help us grow it?

I recently learned a different perspective: that power is capacity — what you are able to hold, handle, endure, and build without breaking.

Emotional capacity

  • How much you can feel without collapsing.
  • How much disappointment you can survive without becoming bitter.
  • How much you can forgive without losing yourself.

Steady hearts are powerful.

Mental capacity

  • How much pressure you can think through.
  • How calmly you respond when things don’t go your way.

Clarity under pressure is power.

Spiritual capacity

  • How much uncertainty you can carry while still believing.
  • How much growth you can embrace.
  • How much responsibility you can be trusted with.

Expansion requires capacity.

Practical life capacity

  • How much responsibility you can manage.
  • How consistent you remain.
  • How disciplined you are when no one is watching.

Stamina is power.

Power is what you can carry and still remain whole.
