• Funny how life has a way of coming full circle when you least expect it.

I’m genuinely excited to be joining the MySA platform and working alongside a team that’s not only passionate about building something meaningful, but also deeply rooted in local connection. There’s something special about a platform that understands where we come from and where we’re going.

What makes this even more surreal is reconnecting with old school friends through this journey. Years pass, paths change, and yet here we are again—this time building, collaborating, and creating something that has the potential to bring communities closer together.

MySA isn’t just another social network. It’s local, it’s relevant, and it’s built with purpose. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead and proud to be part of something that feels both familiar and forward-thinking at the same time.

Here’s to new beginnings, shared history, and building something that truly matters.

  • Sometimes life slows down just long enough for a memory to find you again… 🌾

Today, as I was driving with my dad and we passed through Villiersdorp, something unexpected happened — a flashback.

This little dorp holds pieces of who I am.

It’s where I learned how to really speak…
    where my voice found confidence,
and where I first sat on a horse and felt freedom in a whole new way 🐎

Funny how places don’t just stay places…
they become chapters of your story.

And in that moment, I wasn’t just passing through —
I was remembering who I used to be… and how far I’ve come.

Some roots never leave you… they just grow with you 🌱

  • Welcome to the “advanced” digital banking experience in South Africa.

This morning we ran into one of those situations that perfectly illustrates the irony of modern systems.

Our team needed to load prepaid electricity — nothing complicated, just a normal everyday task to keep things running. At the same time a number of payments to individuals were waiting to be sent out.

Simple enough… or at least it should be.

Except the bank placed a verification security block on the account.

No problem, right? Just log in and approve it.

    Well, not quite.

The mobile app requires a selfie verification to approve the transactions.
The selfie verification refuses to work.

So you try logging into online banking instead.

But online banking requires approval from the app.

The card payments? Also require approval from the app.

The app accepts the PIN… but still insists on a selfie verification that simply will not complete.

So now the system works perfectly… except for the one thing it was designed to do — allow you to actually use your bank account.

    The only solution?
Drive to the bank branch to reset the biometric verification.

All of this for something as simple as buying prepaid electricity and releasing payments that were already scheduled.

The funny part is that everything was working perfectly just two weeks ago through multiple logins.

This is the strange reality of “advanced systems.”
They can do incredible things… but sometimes fail at the most basic ones.

And when you're running a business, time lost to problems like this is time that could have been spent building, supporting clients, and moving projects forward.

  • A Romance Short Story by The Cozy Nook Writer:

    The Note in the Locker:

Alice had never thought much about high school romance. She liked her quiet mornings, her stack of books, and the way the sunlight hit the library window just right. But everything changed one Wednesday.

It started with a sticky note. She opened her locker between classes and found it tucked inside:

"Hey, I think you have the best laugh. - J"

She froze. Her laugh? Really? She scanned the hallway, heart thumping, but no one seemed to be staring—no one at all.

Over the next week, more notes appeared. Some were funny:

"If you keep reading in the library like that, I might have to challenge you to a duel for the last comfy chair. - J"

    Some were sweet:

"You don’t even know it, but you make Mondays better. - J"

Alice found herself looking forward to finding them, her curiosity building each day. She tried to guess who J could be. Maybe Max from chemistry, always teasing; or Sam from art, who lingered by the lockers; or the quiet boy who sat near the back of the library, always scribbling in a notebook.

Then came a note that made her heart skip:

"Meet me today under the big oak tree at lunch. - J"

Alice stared at it, a mix of excitement and nerves twisting in her stomach. She arrived at the courtyard early, sitting under the tree, pretending to read a book while peeking around at the crowd. Her eyes scanned everyone, trying to guess which boy would come forward.

Minutes passed. No one appeared. Her heart sank. Maybe it was a joke?

Suddenly, a shadow fell over her notebook. She looked up.

“Hey,” said a voice. Alice blinked. It was the quiet boy from the library—Jake. Her heart skipped.

“I figured you might be wondering who’s been leaving you notes,” he said, smiling nervously.

    Alice’s mouth went dry. “You’re… J?”

Jake nodded, scratching the back of his neck. “Yeah. I didn’t want to make it weird at first, so I wrote the notes instead. But… I wanted to meet you in person finally.”

Alice laughed—the one that apparently had inspired the first note. “It wasn’t weird. It was… really nice.”

Jake grinned. “Good. I’ll take that as a win.”

Over the next weeks, Alice and Jake grew closer. They discovered shared favorite books, playlists, and even a love for stargazing at night. The mysterious sticky notes became an inside joke between them—sometimes, Jake still slipped one into her locker for fun.

By the end of the semester, what had started as simple notes had grown into something neither Alice nor Jake expected—but both cherished. And sometimes, when Alice laughed just right, Jake would sneak another note into her locker, just for old times’ sake.

Because some romances, she realized, start small… and end up lasting much longer than anyone could predict.

  • A Chinese man once lost a game of chess to his wife and he could not accept it. He sat outside in heavy rain for four hours replaying every move trying to understand where he went wrong. His wife kept asking him to come inside but he stayed there completely absorbed in the game.

It is funny on the surface but also strangely admirable. Some people lose and move on others lose and refuse to let the lesson escape. Obsession is not always about ego sometimes it is about respect for the craft and for the opponent.
